A brand from Zurich with a French name? What stands behind it and where does the name actually come from?
In this entry we will highlight some facts about Julien de Bourg. So be curious.
Fact 1: Although the brand was not launched until mid-2018, the brand name Julien de Bourg has been around for more than 25 years.
The founders of the brand Julien de Bourg come from a family with a centuries-old watchmaking tradition.
Thus, several watches were already manufactured under the name Julien de Bourg in the 90s. However, these watches were never sold, but distributed to family members – as a kind of homage to the birth of their first son.
When we decided to launch our own watch brand at the market, we couldn’t help but revive the name and thus continue the family tradition.
Fact 2: According to our customers from Basel or Hamburg, the Julien de Bourg logo is inspired by Feldschlösschen or the Hamburg city crest. Both are wrong.
The logo of Julien de Bourg is plain and simple a part of our family crest.
We have more or less adopted the castle and the lettering from the initial brand. A modern coat of paint and simplified lines – and our trademark was finished.
So we personally stand behind our automatic watches, the materials processed and, last but not least, the quality of each of our watches, not only with our name but also with our family crest.
Fact 3: We are different from other watch brands – especially in this price range.
Julien de Bourg’s goal is to make automatic watches accessible to the broad public.
Automatic watches tend to be more expensive than quartz watches, and there are virtually no automatic watches on the market that offer convincing quality and aesthetics for less than CHF 300. Until now.
